The Manufacturing Process
As each item is individually produced, the end product is dependent on the specific Ostrich Leather skin used during the manufacturing process. Due to the fact that this is a natural material and each skin has a unique shape, as well as the variation in size and distribution of quills, each product is unique and exclusive. Please click on the following link for a detailed description of the fashionable trademarks of Ostrich Leather: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostrich_leather.
A very important step in the process, is the selection of tanned skins according to size, colour, quality and natural markings. As a result of the uniqueness of this very exquisite leather, slight variation in colour and sizing of our handmade products may occur. Ostrich Leather is tanned in different finishes, the standard most sought after and natural look, is referred to as a Saddle Finish.
Products are expertly hand-crafted by true specialised artisans of the trade in our own factory, adding to the value and worth of our collection of luxurious Ostrich Leather Products.
Due to the fact that the process of designing and producing these exquisite pieces of artistry is this involved, manufacturing may take four (4) to six (6) weeks, depending on availability of materials.
